Certificates as records of completion

Definition — Certificate.

A “Certificate” is a document issued by AML Certification Centre that confirms the named holder successfully completed the stated programme requirements and/or passed the relevant assessment as of the certificate issue date (“Issue Date”). A Certificate is a record of achievement as of the Issue Date.

Where a programme offers a certificate, the certificate confirms that the named holder met the programme requirements as of the issue date. Certificates are records of achievement as of that date.

Verification page and QR codes

Certificates may include a certificate ID and/or QR code that links to a verification page on our website. The verification page will display the certificate ID, programme name, issue date, and holder name (or a privacy-preserving identifier).

Continuity of verification

We will use commercially reasonable efforts to maintain verification services. We may change URLs, hosting, or platform architecture provided that certificates remain reasonably verifiable through redirects or lookup by certificate ID.

If verification is temporarily unavailable, we may provide alternative verification (e.g., a verification email/letter) where reasonably possible.

Recertification

We may introduce recertification or “Current/Active” status requirements for certain designations in the future to reflect evolving regulatory expectations, typologies, and best practices. If introduced, recertification requirements will be published in advance and will apply prospectively. Not completing recertification (if offered or required for Current/Active status) does not change the historical fact of completion shown by the Certificate Issue Date; it may affect whether a designation is shown as “Current/Active” on the Verification Page.

A Certificate already issued remains a record of achievement as of the Issue Date and will not be retroactively invalidated solely due to later policy changes.

Corrections, re-issuance, and revocation

  • Correction: We may correct clerical errors (e.g., name spelling) upon request and identity verification.
  • Re-issuance: We may reissue a certificate with corrected details while keeping the same certificate ID or issuing a new ID, depending on the case.
  • Revocation: We may revoke a certificate if it was issued in error, obtained through misconduct (e.g., cheating, impersonation), or if identity fraud is confirmed.

Use of certificates and logos

You may use your certificate and designation for professional purposes, provided you do not imply regulatory endorsement, legal advice, or guaranteed competence in specific jurisdictions. You may not use our logos or marks beyond what is explicitly permitted in your certificate materials.

Changes

We may update this policy to reflect programme improvements and regulatory developments.
